Comprehensive Patient Assessment for Nurses
About Course
Comprehensive patient assessment is one of the most important responsibilities of every nurse. A systematic assessment enables nurses to identify health problems early, prioritize patient needs, communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and provide evidence-based nursing care.
This course provides practical knowledge and step-by-step guidance on conducting patient assessments from admission to discharge. Participants will learn how to collect patient history, perform physical examinations using a head-to-toe approach, recognize abnormal findings, document assessments accurately, and develop nursing care plans.
Examples and case studies are adapted to healthcare settings commonly found in Tanzania, including dispensaries, health centres, district hospitals, regional referral hospitals, and private healthcare facilities.
